Activities: In the winter world-class skiing is just out your doorstep, with the Hemlock House nestled between Nub's Nob -- known for great snow and friendly staff-- and Boyne Highlands-- with its famous Austrian Snowsports School and great nightlife. Groomed snowmobile trails, as well as top notch snowshoe and cross country trails are only minutes away. With indoor/Outdoor ice skating, ice fishing, and shopping opportunities within 10 minutes of the house, there is no time to get "cabin fever" here!

During the summer months, Boyne Highlands world-class golf courses are less than one minute away. The area boasts some of the state's best courses, including Little Traverse Bay, Bay Harbor, Chestnut Valley, Hidden River, Harbor Point, Crooked Tree and more as close as five minutes (and no further than 30 minutes) away! Enjoy all the natural beauty of northern Michigan's crystal blue waters, with Little Traverse Bay, Lake Michigan, Lake Charlevoix, the Inland Waterway (including Crooked, Mullet, and Burt Lakes) all just minutes away. Boating, beaches, water sports abound! The famous North Country Trail has trailheads less than five minutes from the Hemlock House, great for hiking and mushroom hunting (some areas of the trail allow bikes. The Little Traverse Wheel-way and Boyne Highlands Mountain Bike Trails offer cyclists great opportunities to see the area, and the Tunnel of Trees scenic bike route starts just ten minutes away.

Fall brings beautiful displays of foliage. Fall color tours are breathtaking every year!
